2020 Amplifier client Update

A Brand New Warehouse

Later this month, Amplifier moves into a brand new warehouse. No service interruption for clients is expected during this transition. Our new facility will enable Amplifier to support rapid client growth and expands our capacity in:

  • Air Conditioned Storage and Fulfillment,

  • Basic Storage & Fulfillment,

  • Screen Print & On-Demand Production,

  • Receiving.

Among the other benefits, the new building enjoys vastly superior insulation even in the hot portion of the warehouse. We are very glad to be able to provide this benefit to our hardworking personnel.   We also will have our first completely air-conditioned and fully racked sub-warehouse for items requiring climate control for storage and picking.

All Amplifier operations will shift to the new building on Monday, September 18.  It is imperative to inform your Suppliers, Purchasing Departments, and general staff that deliveries from September 18 forward must be sent to our new address at:

Amplifier
8015 Burleson Road
Unit 100
Austin, TX, 78744

Deliveries to our old address at 800 Interchange Blvd. will be temporarily redirected to 8015 Burleson.   But we strongly advise that you immediately notify all stakeholders of this change and send reminders to minimize disruptions.

Triple Freeport Tax Benefits

Amplifier’s new warehouse is located in a “Triple-Freeport” designated corridor.  This means that any client inventory transported from our new warehouse out of Texas within 175 days of arriving may be exempted from Business Personal Property Taxes.  Since this represents a significant potential source of property tax reduction, we strongly advise you to contact your tax and accounting resources immediately to ensure your company can take advantage of this savings opportunity.  Direct them to Texas Controller of Public Accounts Form 50-113.  Your deadline for filing is April 30th.

New Webhooks & Zapier Features

By popular demand, Amplifier has released our first Supplier-related webhooks:

  • Supplies Delivery Received notifies you when inventory deliveries arrive at our dock.

  • Supplies Delivery Processed provides results of each receipt (including discrepancies & ratings)

All Amplifier Pro users using Zapier have immediate access to these new webhooks. Amplifier Standard seeking to access these new webhooks can upgrade to Amplifier Pro here.

Q4 2020 Planning

COVID-19 brought profound changes to many businesses.  The massive shift to online sales is unprecedented and carriers are already signaling that the 2020 Peak Season will be a challenge for package delivery networks. To reduce pressure, they are already implementing major changes.  Some are refusing to take new clients altogether. Some are imposing penalties on busier clients.  Others like UPS are imposing complex preemptive surcharges. DHLeCommerce, our primary partner, is added a $.30 surcharge which simply offsets USPS’ recently-announced seasonal price increase.

Once carriers release their Holiday Shipping cut-off dates, Amplifier will publish our Peak Season Guide. We already have an early recommendation for you:  consider moving your "Black Friday / Cyber Monday" demand forward into October, and try to move "just in time for Christmas" demand into the first week of December.  Even in perfectly normal years, Carriers work hard to hit their delivery dates.  So try to bring some of your demand forward so you’re not flooding the networks at their most congested.

Amplifier & COVID

We are very thankful that no-one at Amplifier has contracted COVID-19.  We continue to work the recommended protocols and are really looking forward to wearing masks in the new building. Due to COVID-19 protocols, non-employee visits to Amplifier are by appointment only and everyone is subject to the protective protocols.

Leadership Changes

Amplifier has also made some significant moves in management.  Macon Stokes, after many years as Amplifier’s President, has been promoted to our CEO.  Michael Pelletier (formerly of Build-A-Sign) has joined us as our new Chief Operations Officier.  Jef Sewell, our founder and former CEO, is moving to become CPO (Chief Product Officer) to focus on expanding the capabilities of Amplifier’s original logistics software platform.
